McKennie nearly had a goal of his own in the opening minute when his shot deflected off the post. Luckily for Juve, the ball fell right to the foot of Moise Kean who scored a tap-in.

Initially it looked like Juventus weren’t interested in keeping McKennie on the roster for next season. He spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign with Leeds United on loan. His performances were so-so, and Leeds were relegated. Rumors said that McKennie wasn’t involved in Juve’s 2023-24 plans and that he wouldn’t even get an invite to the preseason tour in the U.S.
Fast forward to the beginning of August and he’s proving why he belongs in Turin.
Great stuff from McKennie.
