It’s been six months since Gareth Bale smashed in a penalty kick against the United States in Qatar at the World Cup. The Welsh legend hung up his boots and picked up his golf clubs after the tournament and has never looked back.
On Thursday Bale posted a video to Instagram of him getting his first-ever hole-in-one on a golf course. Bale was playing at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in California and was filmed nailing the shot and wheeling away in celebration.
The hole-in-one was meant to be as his friend filming the shot said prior to Bale’s swing, “Hole-in-one time, never had one, this is the hole to do it.”

We’d argue that this is the most Bale has celebrated something since he scored the equalizer against the Stars and Stripes in Qatar.
“Gareth Bale, he doesn’t just do bicycle kicks!” his friend exclaimed.
The Welshman’s days of scoring bicycle kicks are well in the mirror as he enjoys his other true love, golf.
Earlier this year he made an appearance at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am where he dazzled the crowd with an amazing trick shot.

Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney tried to lure Bale out of retirement to join the Welsh side in League Two, however the ex-Real Madrid star declined and will be staying on the greens of golf courses.
