There was a standout moment during Crystal Palace's incredible 5-1 victory over Leeds United on Sunday that I failed to notice — I think I was too busy trying to comprehend Leeds' total capitulation — but now register as one of the best goal celebrations of the 2022-23 season.
Trailing 1-0, Palace scored three goals in a 10-minute span across the first and second halves to silence Elland Road. The third was scored by Eberechi Eze after the 24-year-old advanced from his midfield position, leaving Marc Roca in his wake, before poking it under Illan Meslier.
Eze's celebration included a closer look at his first-ever signature boot — the New Balance Furon v7 'Starraiser' that wasn't officially released until Tuesday.
Crystal Palace suddenly lead 3-1 now at Elland Road!

The boots are a clever play on Eze's early childhood days playing in Greenwich Park, home of the Royal Greenwich Observatory. The message is to aim for the stars, and let's be honest, we're all suckers for star charts and constellations. I'm a huge fan of Orion myself.
What's more, all the green accents glow in the dark.
And look! They're the only boots that can also be used as a learning tool.
After missing much of last season with an Achilles injury, Eze is again demonstrating the form that's put him in line for an England debut. He's got five goals and three assists in 30 appearances, and it's clear that Roy Hodgson is building his midfield around Eze's ability to join the attack.
A first-ever signature look for the star from Greenwich is further proof of his rise.
You can get the boots now on the New Balance website for $250.
