Seattle's Season Too Bad For Even Sigi Schmid To Withstand

Sigi Schmid is no longer the head coach of the Seattle Sounders after they "mutually" agreed to part ways.

Tampa Bay Rowdies Made A Compilation Video Of Bad Calls Against Them And It's 7 Minutes Long

The title of "World's Saltiest Soccer Team" 2016 has already been decided. There will be no more entries. The Tampa Bay Rowdies have won.

The Rowdies made a compilation video of times the referees have wronged them this season and it is seven minutes long. The video is titled "2016 Rowdies Officiating Deficiencies," which is just another way of saying "they're out to get us".

The Seattle Sounders Basically Gave Up Against Sporting Kansas City

It took until the 88th minute for the Seattle Sounders to avoid turning in the undisputed worst offensive performance in MLS history. Until the 88th minute, the Sounders had not even taken a shot. No team has ever gone an entire MLS game without taking a shot.

Sporting, meanwhile, recorded more than one shot. They put three in the net before Seattle managed to even shoot.

38-Year-Old Didier Drogba Fires Sensational Hat-Trick For Montreal

The living legend that is Didier Drogba is approaching his 20th season of professional soccer, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. The former Chelsea striker lifted the Montreal Impact into the MLS playoffs for the first time in their history last season, and he’s almost certain to have an even more influential campaign this time around following his resounding hat-trick against Philadelphia.

Comedian John Oliver Is A Liverpool Fan And He Wants You To Be One Too

This Goalkeeping Own Goal Is Like A Delightful Joke, It Will Never Leave You

A funny thing happened in Blaine, Minnesota on Wednesday night. In fact, it was hilarious. To get you in the mood for the hilarity, here’s a joke involving Minnesota United goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock, the man who provided the humor.

There’s a fire raging in an apartment building and Minnesota United goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock spots a lady trapped with her baby near the top floor. It’s a precarious situation, and the flames are slowly rising to her position.

“Here! Throw the baby down to me, I’ll catch it - I’m Minnesota’s No. 1 keeper! I’m a professional goalie!” yells Sammy.

Joe Cole Is Still The Most Skilled English Attacking Mid

You can keep your Dele Allis, your Ross Barkleys, your Raheem Sterlings and Adam Lallanas and James Milners and Jack Wilsheres. I want Joe Cole.

Cole, formerly of Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and West Ham, is one of the few English footballers having a summer you wouldn't describe as "underwhelming." Look at this goal he scored for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the NASL (the USA's second division for those of you reading this somewhere besides the good ol' USA).

Landon Donovan Believes Christian Pulisic Has More Potential Than He Ever Had

Landon Donovan has returned to the public spotlight with a couple of high profile appearances in the last week. On Monday, Donovan took part in Major League Baseball’s All-Star festivities by participating in a celebrity softball game. The USA’s all time leading scorer hit an inside-the-park home run that showed off the 34 year olds still electric pace.

Tim Howard Returns To MLS, Posts A Commanding Shutout

Tim Howard’s presence in MLS was clearly felt during his return on Monday as the American goalkeeper registered a shutout in the 0-0 draw between Colorado Rapids, Howard’s new club, and the reigning MLS champion Portland Timbers.

Howard’s debut electrified Colorado’s fanbase — the club typically averages 14,978 spectators per match but had a season-best 18,759 attend Monday’s July 4th matchup.

Rapids fans were keen to see Howard and Jermaine Jones, both returning from Copa America action with the United States, take the field together for the first time for the club.

The USWNT Debut New Kits For The Rio Olympics

The US women’s national team will take to the pitch in Rio this summer wearing a distinctly different home kit from the ones debuted with the new US Soccer badge earlier this year.

This kit was designed specifically for use in the Olympics because of an Olympic charter that mandates the absence of federation crests. Instead, the USA’s controversial new ‘Captain America’ crest will be replaced with simple “USA” lettering.
