Why Jurgen Klinsmann's Salary Made Firing Him Harder Than It Should Have Been

Jurgen Klinsmann is no longer the head coach of the United States Men's National Team. Most USMNT fans wanted Klinsmann out even before the debacle against Costa Rica, but most assumed Klinsmann's large buyout would keep him employed at least a little while longer.

Apparently the buyout wasn't big enough to keep Klinsmann around, but it was still a massive amount of money. No one seems to know the exact amount, but most, if not all, outlets feel safe in saying it was quite large.

Zlatan Believes He Can Eclipse Napoleon By Conquering America

Zlatan Ibrahimovic frequently plays at being a conquerer, emperor and god while discussing his career. He’s discussed how his favorite movie is Gladiator, because he feels that, like Maximus Decimus Meridius, he will have his vengeance, in this life or the next.

“That’s how I felt, or wanted to feel,” said Ibrahimovic in his book, I Am Zlatan. “I wanted to stand up to the whole world and show everybody who’d doubted me who I really was, and I couldn’t imagine anyone who’d be able to stop me.”

U.S. Soccer Goes In Search Of Lost Time By Hiring Bruce Arena

Jurgen Klinsmann was handed the keys to the USMNT on the backend of an exhilarating 4-2 loss to Mexico in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final. The defeat in front of over 93,000 at the Rose Bowl clearly didn’t sit well with U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati, who used the pretense of throwing away a two-goal lead to sack Bob Bradley and bring in the man he’d long coveted, Klinsmann.

Providence Score 4 Goals In 12 Minutes To Beat Maryland, A Comeback For The Ages

Providence provided the upset of the 2016 Men's NCAA Tournament by shocking top-ranked and previously undefeated Maryland 5-4 in the second round. Even more stunning than the upset was how they went about achieving it.

Down 4-1 in the 54th minute, the Friars' season appeared all but over. However, Providence got a glimmer of hope in the 70th minute, Julian Gressel scoring his second of the match and cutting the defecit to 4-2. Thirty six seconds later, Nick Sailor scored his first goal of the season for Providence with a stunning effort from 30 yards out.

A New Study Outlines The Positives Of Having Promotion And Relegation In US Soccer

Ronaldinho Is Reportedly Looking To Play In The MLS Next Season

Believe it or not, this time it doesn’t seem to be a joke: Ronaldinho might be headed to the Major League Soccer.

Rumors have been flying around ever since the legendary midfielder became a free agent, but until now that was all they were: rumors.

The first bit of solid news on Ronaldinho’s future came in curious fashion, as Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan tweeted that the 2005 Balon d’Or winner wouldn’t be joining Brazilian side Sao Paulo.

Everything You Need To Know About The 2016 Men's College Cup

The 2016 NCAA Men’s College Cup kicked off this week. Defending champions Stanford had a bye from the first round as a series of unseeded, round one games took place. Men’s NCAA soccer concludes with the oddly numbered 48-team bracket. To make it even more confusing, the selection committee identifies the top 16 seeds and then places them around the bracket.

Four 24-Year-Old Hackers Brought Down By The FBI After Making $16 Million On FIFA

Nick Castellucci, Ricky Miller, Eaton Zveare and Anthony Clark, all 24, must’ve known things had gotten a little out of control when they began buying Audi A3s and Ford Explorers while their bank accounts showed that they’d become multi-millionaires.

One imagines the fright that Peter Gibbons, Samir Nagheenanajar and Michael Bolton felt in Office Space upon discovering a bug in their code that had inadvertently stolen way too much money from their company in only a few days.
