Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard won his first match as a manager on Thursday with Scotland’s Rangers FC against Macedonia’s FK Shkupi. Rangers’ Jamie Murphy and James Tavernier led a 2-0 win in the second leg of the first qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League.
The English Premier League is the richest group of teams in the world, with many of the best players from around the globe gathered in England (and Wales). The Premier League top scorers of all time therefore is a list featuring some of the best finishers to ever play the game.
The EPL has only been around since 1992, so unfortunately Jimmy Greaves’ record 357 goals from 1957-71 doesn’t make it on the list of the Premier League top scorers of all time. However, plenty of other giants of the game have graced the league, from Cristiano Ronaldo to Thierry Henry.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was appointed as the new boss at Scottish Premiership side Rangers on Friday. It represents Gerrard’s first taste of life as a manager for a club. Before he made the jump to the big boy leagues, Stevie G was an academy coach at Liverpool, where he guided their under-19 side to a quarterfinal place in the UEFA Youth League this season.
