Horrendous Aston Villa Blooper Leads To Tottenham’s Last-Second Winner
It’s been an excellent 24 hours for Tottenham’s Champions League aspirations.

Liverpool marched on to yet another win, scoring late and great to eventually see off last-place Norwich City 1-0 in a match that was much harder than the Reds might have expected on Saturday at Carrow Road.
Liverpool has now taken 76 points from a possible 78, which is just stupid if you think about it. If this happened in any other league in Europe (or the world), detractors would use it as proof to say the rest of the league is no good. But in England, Liverpool is hailed as one of the greatest teams of all time, and it’s hard to argue against that.
For once, UEFA has shown it’s got a bit of a spine. After years of failing to truly punish violators of Financial Fair Play, UEFA handed down its biggest penalty yet, banning Manchester City from the Champions League for two seasons on Friday. The English club was also fined $32.5 million. The Man City UCL ban is subject to appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Alexander Sørloth looked a man bereft of confidence. Just 12 months after arriving in South London in a $11.75 million deal from Denmark's FC Midtjylland, the Norwegian striker was yet to score a Premier League goal for Crystal Palace in 16 appearances. In all but four of those outings, he had come off the bench.
Everton’s Djibril Sidibé probably wasn’t expecting to enter Saturday’s match in the first half. He probably wasn’t expecting to become the joke of the football world either.
Sidibé left Everton playing Crystal Palace with 10 men for a couple minutes after he failed to realize he only had one sock on as he prepared to enter the match for the injured Theo Walcott. Sidibé only realized his mistake when he bent over to pull up his sock that wasn’t there. He immediately went back to the locker room to put on a second sock.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has enjoyed some success since jumping in with the team in late November.
The veteran manager has led his squad to seven Premier League victories and four draws out of his first 15 matches.
Early signs showed Mourinho may not have had a lot of answers for the top half of the EPL as he dropped his first three matches against teams in the top 10. However, Mourinho and the Spurs are coming off a dynamic 2-0 win over reigning champion Manchester City.
With the introduction of the Premier League winter break, football addicts may worry about not getting their fix of football.
Matchday 26 of the EPL will be spread out over the course of two weeks, which means a severe lack of football. Thankfully there are two imperative matches being played this weekend in the Bundesliga and Serie A that will fill the empty space left by the winter break.
The numbers are ridiculous. Following Tottenham’s remarkable 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, here’s the statistical summary of the Premier League encounters between Spurs and City this campaign.
It took until the 67th minute, but it happened. Without fail, it always happens. With Liverpool leading West Ham 2-0 and supporters beginning their ascent up the stairs and out the door at London Stadium on Wednesday evening, the commentators on NBCSN began lamenting about how it all just doesn’t feel right.
On Sunday, America’s most-watched sporting event will take place. This year viewers will have to tune in to FOX to watch Super Bowl 54 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. This means our ears will be graced with the absolute beauty of the NFL on Fox theme song.
