The CONMEBOL statement in response to the shocking fight from Wednesday that saw Uruguay players clashing with Colombian fans in the stands was… lackluster.

Soccer fans around the world were appalled by scenes of Uruguay’s Darwin Núñez exchanging blows with fans in the stands of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Wednesday’s Copa América semifinal ended with Colombia defeating Uruguay 1-0 and Darwin Núñez punching fans in the stands of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The semifinal was another classic CONMEBOL clash that saw 24 fouls, six yellow cards and a red card. After the game tensions were high with the Colombians celebrating and Uruguay players and staff getting physical.

The American Outlaws Gregg Berhalter statement released on Wednesday illustrated the United States men’s national team head coach’s loss of support from fans and media.

The video, which Reuters has not been able to verify, shows a man in a steward's top repeatedly hitting someone in the face as colleagues restrain him in a Frankfurt Arena gangway. Two others kick and beat the man further when he falls to the floor.

U.S. Soccer and Copa América condemn online racist abuse against USMNT players following Panama loss

The U.S. soccer federation condemned the online racist abuse of their players on Thursday after their 2-1 defeat by Panama at the Copa America.

"There is absolutely no place in the game for such hateful and discriminatory behaviour," U.S. Soccer said in a statement.

"These actions are not only unacceptable but also contrary to the values of respect and inclusivity that we uphold as an organization."
