Watch Pumas Score One Of The Goals Of The Liga MX Season

It was just another Sunday night in Liga MX. Pumas were on their way to victory against a hapless Monarcas de Morelia team that had already conceded two own goals. All UNAM needed to do was see out the game and collect three points. In the 58th minute, midfielder Javier Cortes Granados decided seeing out the game wasn't enough.

He needed to score the goal of 2016 so far in Liga MX. So that's what he did.

How Close Is Carlos Vela To Moving To MLS?

The Carlos Vela Spain experience just might be drawing to a close. The Mexican striker hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire this season for Real Sociedad this season, and the Vela-to-MLS rumors seem to hold more weight than ever.

Vela, 27, was left out of Mexico's latest squad, and has four goals in 29 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Sociedad. For a striker, those numbers aren't enough to impress anybody.

El Super Clasico Was The Definition Of Lit

We are on record as saying Liga MX is by and large the most entertaining soccer league in the world, and there is no game in Liga MX that is more entertaining than El Super Clasico between Mexico's two traditional powers, Club America and Chivas de Guadalajara.

Although Chivas isn't playing like a traditional power at the moment, you never know what's going to happen when these two meet. Sunday's contest was no exception.

Watch Tecatito's Game-Winning Golazo For Porto

Portuguese club Porto find themselves right where they need to be in the middle of March, in the thick of the Premeira Liga title race. Things did not look so rosy on Saturday, when Porto were tied with lowly Uniao de Madeira nearing the full-time whistle. Then Jesus "Tecatito" Corona said "lol nope" and won the game for Porto.

Coronal wasn't the only Mexico international to score for Porto Saturday. Hector Herrera put Porto up 2-0 in the 51st minute with a nifty goal.

From Sacred Dogs To Accused Murderers, Club Tijuana Is The Weirdest Team In Mexico

In case you missed it last week, Liga MX took MLS to school in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. The Mexican clubs (Club America, Queretaro, Santos Laguna, and Tigres) dominated their American opposition. While watching the results unfold, I realized I don’t know much about Mexico’s Liga MX and I needed to learn more.

So after diving into the wild world of Mexican club soccer, I came away with a wonderful, crazy, exciting, and bizarre realization.

Club Tijuana is AWESOME.

Pachuca Have A Fun, Kind Of Weird Obsession With Pokemon

Pachuca like Pokemon. A lot.

What could have caused this obsession? Our working theory is "Pachuca" would be a great name for a Pokemon (other soccer clubs with great Pokemon names: Cobresal, Gremio, Melgar, Carmelita and Xelaju) and they just ran with it.

Here are Pachuca's tweets from the second half against Dorados de Sinaloa. Again, these are just from the second half.
