MLS newcomer Charlotte FC announced this morning the club is parting ways with head coach Miguel Ángel Ramírez. Why did Charlotte fire Ramírez? The short answer is that at this point, no one is sure.

Just 14 games into their first season as an expansion team in Major League Soccer, Ramírez had Charlotte outperforming expectations. The Queen City sits in eighth place in the eastern conference, just one position out of a playoff spot, and reached the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup.  

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp dedicated Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris to the people of Ukraine, expressing support for the country against Russia's invasion.

The game, a rematch of the 2018 final, had been scheduled for St Petersburg's Gazprom Arena but was shifted to the Stade de France after Russia's Feb. 24 invasion of its neighbor.

"I am happy that the game is here for thousands of reasons," Klopp told reporters. The war is still going on and we have to think about that." 

José Mourinho made history on Wednesday when his Roma side became the first club to win the Europa Conference League defeating Feyenoord 1-0. He’s now the only manager in history to win all three of Europe’s tournaments and he can give a big thanks to goalkeeper Rui Patrício for making a massive save to keep his side ahead on Wednesday.

Rui Patrício was nearly written off as a goalkeeper heading into the 2021-22 season. The previous season he had been anything but consistent with Wolves and left for Roma after one of his worst seasons (51 goals conceded in 37 games).

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira will not be charged by England's Football Association (FA) following his altercation with a fan amid a pitch invasion at Goodison Park last week.

Vieira was confronted by the supporter after his team's 3-2 defeat by Everton and the Frenchman appeared to kick the fan to the ground before being led away.

When Jesse Marsch was hired to revitalize a struggling Leeds United earlier this year, the Ted Lasso comparisons were everywhere, British media members incapable of treating Marsch like his own man. Now, Leeds’ American coach can separate himself from the TV manager.
