Jürgen Klopp pulls his hamstring celebrating winner in front of the fourth official

In a match best described as barely-believable, Liverpool took a 3-0 lead over Spurs inside 15 minutes on Sunday before Tottenham stunned Anfield with three of their own, culminating in Richarlison's equalizer at 90+3'.

But Diogo Jota earned all three points for Liverpool at 90+4', and in the ensuing bedlam manager Jürgen Klopp twanged his hamstring while pointedly celebrating the goal in the fourth official's face.

Warning: If you've pulled your hamstring before, this clip will conjure painful memories. You can almost feel this video.

As a 2022-23 Major Leeds Soccer fan, I've never been more embarrassed

I've been watching Leeds United like a Marcelo Bielsa assistant stationed in a bush for over eight months now. And to everyone out in West Yorkshire who's been watching since closer to the club's foundation in 1919, I just want to apologize: I'm sorry we gave you the total American soccer experience of not being very good at this game.

Like the American in An American Werewolf in London, I feel like my spiritual presence here in England has only left a trail of destruction, blood and tears.

Linesman who threw elbow at Robertson won't be appointed for matches

The assistant referee who allegedly elbowed Liverpool's Andy Robertson at halftime during their Premier League draw with Arsenal will not be appointed for matches in the future until an investigation is complete, the referee's body said on Monday.

Liverpool full back Robertson was seen remonstrating with the official, Constantine Hatzidakis, at halftime in Sunday's game and video replays appeared to show him brushing off the Scotland international and catching him with his elbow.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal prepared to break Gunners’ 11-year EPL winless streak at Anfield

Arsenal will need to be brave and at their very best if they are to snap their winless run at Anfield, manager Mikel Arteta said on Friday, as the Premier League leaders look to maintain their eight-point lead over Manchester City in the title race.

Arsenal have not won at Anfield in the Premier League since 2012, a game in which Arteta played. Since then they have suffered heavy defeats, including two 5-1 losses.

Local man falls asleep during Chelsea vs. Liverpool: He missed nothing

Local soccer fan Trever Steinkrauser, known by friends and family as “The Trevmeister,” hoped for an exciting Tuesday afternoon of footy as Chelsea and Liverpool faced off in the Premier League. He would be treated to a monotonous 0-0 draw.

After having to call his mother for the Peacock login, The Trevmeister settled down for what he thought would be an entertaining match.

Manchester City score four unanswered goals to best Liverpool and stay in title race

MANCHESTER — Manchester City showed they can win without goal machine Erling Haaland as they put four past Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday to keep their chase of Premier League leaders Arsenal very much alive.

Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish were all on target for Pep Guardiola's side in a goal-packed return to Premier League action after the international break.

The victory puts City five points behind the Gunners, who play Leeds United later on Saturday.

Erling Haaland is questionable for Liverpool clash says Pep Guardiola

MANCHESTER — Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is a doubt for Saturday's home game against Liverpool in the Premier League but may be risked, manager Pep Guardiola said, as his side maintain their chase of leaders Arsenal.

Haaland, who joined City this season from Borussia Dortmund, has scored 42 goals in 37 matches in all competitions, but suffered a groin injury against Burnley on March 18, and pulled out of Norway's squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Liverpool lose to Bournemouth a week after beating Manchester United 7-0

BOURNEMOUTH — Liverpool's Mohamed Salah missed a second-half penalty as his side fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Bournemouth, with Philip Billing's goal lifting the south-coast side off the bottom of the Premier League table and out of the relegation zone.

The win in the first league game of the weekend sees the Cherries rise from last spot to 16th in the table on 24 points, while Liverpool languish in fifth on 42 points after wasting a chance to close the three-point gap to fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

I thought Klopp was going to murder the pitch invader who injured Andy Robertson

When asked to account for how Liverpool went from "the end of an era" to reaching a new epoch in the space of just 90 minutes on Sunday, manager Jürgen Klopp simply said "the main difference is now we have all the players available."
