Saudi Arabia defender Yasser Al-Shahrani returns to action after horror injury vs. Argentina

Saudi Arabia defender Yasser Al-Shahrani returned to training with his club Al-Hilal on Thursday, 133 days after suffering a serious injury during their stunning 2-1 victory over Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar last year.

Al-Shahrani, 30, suffered head, chest and abdomen injuries after colliding with his own goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais in the final minutes of the game, which was arguably the biggest shock in World Cup history, with Argentina going on to lift the trophy.

This could be a fun USWNT starting XI vs. Ireland on Saturday

By the time the USWNT and Ireland wrap-up their two-match friendly series next Tuesday at CityPark, there'll be less than 100 days before the start of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

So although the U.S. holds a 13-0-0 advantage all-time against the Girls in Green (outscoring them 48 to one in the process), there'll be plenty of internal battles to focus on at Q2 Stadium in Austin on Saturday before the second game in St. Louis three days later.

The Players With The Most International Goals In Soccer History

This list for the players with the most international goals in the history of soccer stretches from players who played in the 1940s to the present day. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi score at an incredible rate for Portugal and Argentina, respectively, but there are those from history who boast an even more impressive rate of scoring.

USWNT World Cup jerseys released — they're a lot better than the USMNT ones

After Nike set the bar about as low as it gets for the USMNT in Qatar, we're happy to report that the USWNT jersey options for the 2023 World Cup are much more desirable.

The sales people said we'd learn to love the USMNT kits eventually, but it's been five months and I still don't like them. As for the latest USWNT efforts, I do believe these will look better and better as the team moves toward the World Cup final in Sydney.

CONMEBOL president says it would be a mistake not to let South America host 2030 World Cup

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) believes FIFA would be making a mistake to not award the 2030 World Cup to a joint bid from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile, the regional governing body said at its 76th Congress on Friday.

With the slogan "Juntos" (together) and the promise of a "Centenary Cup", CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez called on FIFA to award the World Cup to the continent where it began.

Pulisic and Reyna will miss next games after an illness spread through the USMNT camp

With club soccer returning this weekend American fans might be asking questions like: Why is Pulisic not playing? Where’s Gio Reyna?

Christian Pulisic will likely miss Chelsea’s Premier League game vs. Aston Villa on Saturday while Gio Reyna is set to sit out Borussia Dortmund’s massive Der Klassiker clash with Bayern Munich. Both American players are dealing with “severe colds.”

5 reasons why Mexico fans are pissed with their national team

The relationship between the Mexico national team and its fans is far from idyllic. Things are tense and discontent was on display during last Sunday's 2-2 draw against Jamaica. Several players were booed, including Jorge Sánchez, Diego Lainez, Raúl Jiménez and Memo Ochoa.

Yes, Memo Ochoa! The guy who becomes a wall every four years and who's been the most iconic Mexican player of the last decade.

Viral Philippines kits from TikTok become real and put adidas’ garbage jerseys to shame

The new Philippines kits for the men’s national team are a work of art, literally. Created by design studio and TikTok sensation JerseyBird, the Philippines men’s national team are wearing some of the best-looking kits in the world.

Before getting the new kits, the Philippine Football Federation had a deal with Spanish sportswear company Kelme. That deal expired in January.

Legendary national team manager Hervé Renard named France women's coach ahead of World Cup

PARIS - Hervé Renard has been named France women's coach until 2024 and will lead the team at this year's World Cup, the French federation (FFF) said on Thursday.

The 54-year-old Frenchman resigned as coach of the Saudi Arabia men's team this week after leading them to last year's World Cup in Qatar where they pulled off a shock group-stage win over eventual champions Argentina.
