After failing to make USWNT roster, Mia Fishel opens new season with 2 goals

After winning the 2022 Liga MX Femenil Apertura Golden Boot with 17 goals in 17 games before adding three more in the playoffs during Tigres' run to the title, 21-year-old American Mia Fishel picked up right where she left off Monday night in the opening match of the Clausura: Fishel scored a first-half brace in her side's 6-0 win over Atlas.

Jesse Marsch back from the brink after Leeds fight off FA Cup upset with 2-goal comeback

With Leeds United just two points above the Premier League relegation zone nearing the campaign's halfway point, an FA Cup exit to EFL Championship side Cardiff City on Sunday would've certainly left Jesse Marsch's job security on the brink.

It looked pretty hopeless at halftime after Jaden Philogene and Sheyi Ojo scored to give Cardiff a 2-0 advantage while the 6,000 Leeds supporters who'd made their way to Wales booed their players and manager off the pitch.

Christian Pulisic had to be substituted out in the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City on Thursday after picking up an injury. The Pulisic injury happened in the 16th minute when John Stones put in a perfect tackle to deny the American a clean shot on goal.

Pulisic tried to continue playing but was replaced by Carney Chukwuemeka in the 22nd minute.

Brentford beats Liverpool for the first time since 1938

LONDON - Brentford pulled off their latest Premier League shock by beating Liverpool 3-1 at home on Monday, bringing Jürgen Klopp's side's four-game winning streak to an end and rattling their top-four ambitions.

West Brom keeps rising thanks to Daryl Dike's latest game-winner

West Brom's incredible renaissance under Spanish manager Carlos Corberán continued Monday with a 1-0 victory over Reading courtesy of Daryl Dike's goal in the 60th minute.

After missing a large portion of the start of the season with a thigh injury, the 22-year-old American striker enjoyed his longest outing of the Championship season (66 minutes) and scored his second goal in eight games.

The eternal debate: How many goals did Pelé score?

While the world mourns Pelé's death, there is a question that people are constantly asking: How many goals did Pelé score throughout his career?

The answer is not easy and will depend on who is answering it.

Since his irruption in the game in the 1958 World Cup, Pelé promptly showed the globe he was a goal-scoring machine and the image of him jumping with a fist into the air became iconic. The problem? Stats at the time were not as developed as today, so the counting was not as precise as today.
