Free-Kick Travels 30 Yards, Swerves 10, The Keeper Had Zero Chance

Many know the Swedish legend, Henrik Larsson. His son, Jordan is making a name for himself with this incredible free-kick in the 75th minute. Currently playing in the Swedish top flight for Helsingborg IF, Larsson's free-kick needed both power and finesse. With the free-kick from 30 yards out, Larsson needed the power to make it to the goal, but also the finesse to beat the keeper. This was his second goal of the match. During the 6th minute he creatively chipped the keeper. You don't see skills like this every day. It must be the genes.

Snodgrass Curls In Last Gasp Freekick to Lift Hull City Over Wolverhampton Wanderers

When it is potentially the last kick of the match, you need to make the most of it and Hull City's Robert Snodgrass took advantage of a prime freekick opportunity. In the 4th minute of stoppage time, the scored was tied at 1. Hull's faint hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League were on the line. Snodgrass stepped up in a big moment, curled the freekick off the bar, hitting Wanderer's keeper, Carl Ikeme's back and into the net. While it will go down in the post match report as an own goal, Snodgrass's curling effort was simply spectacular.

Dimitri Payet Is The Free-Kick King

Dimitri Payet has 13 goals in all competitions this year. Five of them are on free-kicks coming off of his golden right foot. Sure, there are a lot of amazing free-kick takers out there, but I'm going to go ahead and just give Payet the title of "Free-Kick King". His right footed curling rockets have been giving goalkeepers fits since his return from an ankle injury in January and he's been key in keeping West Ham in the hunt for a top four finish.  Go ahead a watch all of his golazo's from set peices this year. The best one, probably his rip from 30+ yards out against Russia.

Birthday Boy Payet Scores Amazing Free Kick Against Russia

Dimitri Payet was on the pitch for three minutes before he scored an absolutely stunning free kick from distance in an international friendly in the 64th minute. The West Ham and French international attacking midfielder went top right corner to beat Russian keeper, Igor Akinfeev. This 30 yard free kick put the home side up 3-1. It was a lovely goal that will definitely help Payet's cause in making the Euro 2016 French squad. France would go on to win the match 4 - 2 and birthday boy, Payet provided the highlight reel goal.

Happy Birthday Dimitri!

Clint Dempsey with the Perfect Free Kick Against Club América

While many turn their focus to UEFA Champions League, top clubs in the US and Central America are facing off in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. The Seattle Sounders faced Mexican side, Club América and played to a 2 - 2 draw. Clint Dempsey got the scoring started with a curling freekick in the 43rd minute. The 1 - 0 lead wouldn't last long as Club América came back with a goal of their own before the half in the 45th minute. Dempsey would score again to retake the lead, but it evaporated on a 70th minute goal from Oribe Peralta.

This Team Tried To Fool The Keeper. Now They Are The Joke Of The Dutch League.

Today in How Not To Take A Free Kick, we have Generic Yellow Team trying to put one in against Ajax in the Netherlands, and, you guessed it, failing terribly.

Payet Returns, Hammers Home Clinical Free Kick

West Ham United was off to a hot start to the 2015/16 Premier League season. They rallied off a 6-3-3 record with the help of Dimitri Payet, who scored 5 goals and tacked on 3 assists. Things were going well for The Hammers, and then Payet went down with an ankle injury and West Ham went on to only win two of their next 9 games, with 5 of those matches resulting in ties. Getting points is always good, but the loss of Payet was affecting the squad in the win column.

Soccer Is A Game Of Glory, And This Player’s Free Kick Showed Just How Special That Is.

It takes a truly talented player to score a free kick at any point in a match, but to score one when the stakes are as high as a league title, well, that takes something legendary.

Back in 2007, Celtic were tied with Killmarnock 1-1 going into the closing stages of the game. Only a win would allow them to celebrate a championship, and arguably the game’s last real goal-scoring chance fell to Shunsuke Nakamura when Celtic won a free kick outside of Killmarnock’s box.

Bend It Like Ceni. This Goalkeeper Almost Scored More Free Kicks Than Beckham.

Sometimes we see freak cases where goalkeepers score goals, whether it be from a kick within the box that ends up in the opposite net or a last minute set piece. Rarely do you see a goalkeeper taking a free kick or a penalty kick. Even rarer do you see a keeper with over 100 goals. Because there’s only one. The man, the myth, the legend, Rogerio Ceni.
