USWNT postgame show turns on Berhalter, leaving Alexi Lalas as his biggest champion

U.S. Soccer made its debut on HBO Max Tuesday night with the USWNT beating New Zealand in a friendly in Wellington thanks to four second-half goals, including Alex Morgan's 120th international strike off a ridiculous Rose Lavelle backheel.

The Football Ferns were a little overmatched.

Aaron Ramsdale brushes off getting kicked in the back by Tottenham supporter

LONDON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale said he was attacked by a fan just after his side had earned a 2-0 victory in a fiery North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ramsdale was man-of-the-match as he kept Tottenham at bay time and again and also clashed with several Spurs players during the match.

Spurs' Brazilian forward Richarlison had an altercation with Ramsdale after the final whistle, before a Tottenham supporter seemed to climb on the pitch-side advertising boards and kick the 24-year-old.

Man City's Guardiola and Akanji rage against ‘clear interference’ on United's controversial goal

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji said Marcus Rashford was clearly interfering with play in the lead-up to Manchester United's equalizer in their Premier League match on Saturday.

City defenders tracked Rashford's run from an offside position as he chased the ball for 30 yards before Bruno Fernandes stepped in at the last second to score.

The linesman raised his flag for offside but referee Stuart Attwell awarded the goal, allowing United to mount a comeback and win 2-1.

Comedy of errors between Napoli and Juve with an accidental uppercut and physio getting hit sticked

Serie A leaders Napoli torched Juventus 5-1 on Friday with Victor Osimhen scoring a brace. The Nigerian forward put the hurt on Juve metaphorically and literally.

In the 47th minute Osimhen accidentally landed a perfect uppercut on Manuel Locatelli. The Napoli No. 9 had already burned Juventus in the first half, so Alex Sandro was hassling and grabbing at him right as the second half began.

Osimhen threw his arms up in protest after being dispossessed of the ball but little did he know Locatelli was right next to him. What followed was something straight out of UFC.

Nottingham Forest-Wolves League Cup shootout was full of mockery and shithousery

Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton’s League Cup quarterfinal, in terms of entertainment, exceeded expectations Wednesday night.

The match was a classic game of English soccer: cold and rainy but with a great atmosphere nonetheless. Wolves (with the goalscoring return of Raúl Jiménez) and Forest both managed to get on the scoreboard, but the game stood level at 1-1 after extra time so a winner had to be determined from the spot.

Shakira's new song is a studs-up tackle on Gerard Piqué

Shakira's wounds are not closed. Or at least that's the feeling after listening to the lyrics of her new song, where justifiably there's not even an ounce of mercy for her ex, former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué.

The couple split last summer after reports showed Piqué was cheating on her.

The Colombian singer subtly alluded to the break-up a few months ago with the release of Monotonia, but in "BZRP Music Session #53" — in which she teamed up with Argentine producer Bizarrap — the pop icon went nuclear.

Mbbapé, Real Madrid slam French football president for ‘disrespecting’ Zinedine Zidane

France Football Federation (FFF) president Noël Le Graët apologized to Zinedine Zidane on Monday after his comments on the former Real Madrid coach drew the ire of players, politicians and even the Spanish club.

Zidane was one of the favorites to take charge of the national team if Didier Deschamps had stepped down but his contract was extended after he led France to the World Cup final, where they lost to Argentina in Qatar last month.

Red cards handed out in Barça-Atlético for hair-pulling and squeezing of the pee-pee

Atlético Madrid's slender hopes of catching Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table took a massive hit Sunday when Barça travelled to the Metropolitano and emerged with a 1-0 victory, opening up a 14-point gap between the teams after 16 games.

It was all too predictable from this Diego Simeone side with the João Félix and Antoine Griezmann led attack failing to breakthrough and the midfield unable to gain much of a foothold against Sergio Busquets, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.

Ángel Correa couldn't even connect on an attempted shot aimed at the linesman.

Gio Reyna’s parents were behind alleged Gregg Berhalter blackmail during the World Cup per ESPN

ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle and Kyle Bonagura have revealed some of the most insane U.S. Soccer drama. The parents of U.S. phenom Gio Reyna — National Soccer Hall of Famer Claudio Reyna and his wife Danielle — were the ones responsible for allegedly blackmailing Gregg Berhalter during the World Cup about a domestic violence incident from 1991.

Kylian Mbappé responds to Emi Martínez's World Cup taunts

PARIS - France striker Kylian Mbappé has shrugged off Argentina keeper Emiliano Martínez's taunts after the World Cup final, saying he did not "waste energy on such futile things" as he awaited the return of Paris Saint Germain teammate Lionel Messi.

Mbappé became the second player to score a World Cup final hat-trick as he dragged his country back into the match with a late second-half double and an extra-time penalty, which was still not enough as Argentina prevailed in a shootout.
