You think Aston Villa fans were mad about their pitiful deam being relegated from the Premier League? They were little rays of sunshine compared to Eskisehirspor fans after the Turkish club got bounced from the Turkish first division.

After the last game of the season, which doubled as the last game ever in Eskisehir Ataturk Stadium (they had already planned to move to a different venue for next season) the fans let out their frustration on the club's now-former stadium.

With the La Liga season officially over, it’s time to consider the contributions of aruably the best collection of players on the planet and see who deserves to be known as the best player in La Liga this year, in The18’s esteemed eyes. 

This article only takes into account La Liga action. So, for instance, Antoine Griezmann’s ice cold goal against Bayern Munich counts for nothing here. Without any further ado, let’s get started. 

This year has been sensational for the slightly-not-as-good-as-Messi-and-Ronaldo group of strikers. Zlatan set Ligue 1's single-season scoring record. Luis Suarez had the best season of his career on the way to becoming La Liga's leading scorer. Harry Kane won the golden boot in the Premier League. Robert Lewandowski ripped Gernamy apart. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ripped Germany apart. Chicharito Ripped Germany apart.

Zlatan's last Ligue 1 game with PSG was a special production. He still has one more game with the Parisiens (the Coupe de France final Saturday), but this was effectively his send-off. It didn't disappoint, and neither did he.

I hope Tottenham fans are also Chance the Rapper fans because they are going to need some serious feel good music in order to get over what has just happened to their team. After being 5 points clear of Arsenal with 3 games left to play, they have finished below Arsenal in the Premier League for the 21st consecutive season. 

Arsenal have finished 2nd, their highest league position for 11 seasons & they have finished above Tottenham for the 21st consecutive season

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 50 goals for the sixth consecutive season. He’s the first to ever do so.

It’s getting harder and harder to address Ronaldo as anything other than one of the greatest players of all time. Every time we think he is past it, or overrated, he goes and scores goals, lots and lots of goals. It’s like we’re calling an investment banker washed up and he goes and makes a million in a day. 

Well it’s official, Barcelona are the 2015/16 La Liga champions. Barcelona secured the title with its 3-0 win over Granada today. The game was never in doubt, and Barcelona cruised to their 6th title in 8 years, the 24th in their history.

Saturday, May 14th will go down in La Liga history as the day the 2015/16 title was decided. Barcelona will take on Granada. Real Madrid will take on Deportivo La Coruna. At stake are domestic bragging rights, a chance at redemption for Barcelona, and a chance to upset the status quo for Real Madrid.
