Arsene Wenger gave Thierry Henry the choice: either he quit his job as pundit on Sky Sports to focus solely on his job as assistant manager of Arsenal’s U-18s, or he’d lose his role within Arsenal’s academy. 

Henry has responded by leaving the club, choosing to maintain his role on television along with its £4 million-a-year paycheck. 

Arsenal’s all time record goalscorer had been completing his UEFA Pro License  at the club, the final coaching qualification available, giving rise to rumors that he'd someday replace Wenger.

Arsenal had a season to remember.

They finished runners-up in the 2015-16 Premier League, but fans were not shy in celebrating their traditional St Totteringham's Day as the Gunners managed to pass Tottenham in the final match of the season.

These are the players whose performances will stick with us for all the wrong reasons; the biggest underachievers and flops of the 2015-16 Premier League season. 

After seven largely successful years in charge of France’s AS Monaco, Arsene Wenger had certified his reputation as one of the most promising young managers in football.

He’d led Monaco to the Ligue 1 title in 1988 and a Coupe de France triumph in 1991. They’d also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 1994, leading to interest from Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen in the managerial services of Wenger.

He'd built his reputation as an astute, multilingual and forward-thinking coach who was capable of building and nurturing young squads.
