When Germany takes to the pitch in Rennes, France, on June 8 to open its Women’s World Cup campaign against China, it’ll do so wearing a jersey that’s synonymous with triumph in German footballing lore. For most, the style evokes memories of Italia ’90, the men’s World Cup where Germany went on to capture its third title in that competition. 

There’s something strikingly refreshing about the way adidas is approaching its Nemeziz franchise, especially before the May 7 release of the Nemeziz 19 boot (which’ll be worn by the likes of Lionel Messi, Roberto Firmino, Bernardo Silva and Isco). In essence, it’s a boot that’s highly self-aware: It’s not trying to be all things to all people, and it’s certainly not an example of drawing an eye-catching design and then simply manufacturing it.

This is a revolution in material, construction and performance.

Last year, Manchester United unveiled its jersey for the upcoming season in mid-July, so things could change over next three months, but we now have our first clear look at what the Red Devils will be sporting throughout the 2019-20 season according to Footy Headlines. 

It’s less than three months before the Copa América kicks off in Brazil and the Gold Cup commences across the United States, so adidas is pulling out all the stops when it comes to some of the biggest teams in its stable. This week, adidas revealed the jerseys that Mexico, Argentina and Colombia will be wearing at the major international tournaments.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary adidas Predator cleats, the company is dropping a range of boots and apparel, including recreations of Zinedine Zidane’s ’98 Predator Accelerators and David Beckham’s ’01 Precision Predators. 

I once wrote that MLS has the worst jerseys of any league in the world, and I’m not really willing to walk back on that statement.
