The dream of capturing a Ballon d'Or in Paris is all but dead — he's again in the shadow of Lionel Messi and his numbers illustrate the growing capriciousness of a player that still lives for the big moments (putting on the Seleção shirt), but one who's grown tired of the daily grind that seems to invigorate the rivals he was once predicted to supersede.
But beneath all the noise and drama (real or imagined), there's still a generational talent who's generally loved by teammates and coaches, who's already carved out a career better than 99.9 percent of footballers and who is still the catalyst for a Brazil team that might just be the favorite at the 2022 World Cup.
On Saturday, Jan. 22, Netflix explores these themes, his rise to fame at Santos, his time with Brazil, Barcelona and PSG and lifts "the veil behind Neymar's marketing machine" with a three-part docuseries called Neymar: The Perfect Chaos.
The series also features interviews with David Beckham, Messi and Kylian Mbappé.
