Every four years the World Cup offers a variety of attractions, including mind-blowing passes, dribbles, blocks and spectacular goals followed by unique signature player celebrations, zealous impassioned fans, celebrity-watching and … HAIR!
The World Cup hairstyles soccer players show off during the games have become trademarks of some professional footballers. From Kyle Beckerman’s dreadlocks to Lionel Messi’s bleach-blonde tips, hairstyles are now an important part of a footballer’s identity and help generate a distinct personality for each player.
Below are the top 18 World Cup hairstyles we’ve seen thus far at the 2018 World Cup (we’ve also seen a few wild fan hairdoos as well).
World Cup Hairstiyles
10. Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal
Ronaldo, who has also been known as "The Goat," has been showing off a goatee during this year's World Cup. He claims that the chin beard is good luck and will not be shaving it until the end of the tournament.
9. Paul Pogba, France
The expectation that Pogba would style his hair in a wild manner was high, but he went with more of a clean-cut look this year. He did fly his favorite barber out to Russia from London to ensure he would recieve the haircut he wanted, but it was much more conservative than the world had imagined.
8. Cho Hyun-Woo, South Korea
Similarly to Iran's Ramin Rezaeian, Hyun-Woo went with the puffy mohak look and dyed it a bold dark-coppery orange.
7. Yury Gazinsky, Russia
Taking inspiration from the 1998 Romanian World Cup team, Gazinsky bleached his whole head blonde, which is why we are calling his look "Ice."
6. Dries Mertens, Belgium
Opposing Gazinsky, Belgian player Dries Mertens went with something a little bit different than the frosted-tips look and dyed the top of his head orange, which is why we are calling his style "Fire."
5. Ramin Rezaeian, Iran
Although South Korea's Cho Hyun-Woo comes in a close second, Rezaeian undoubtedly wins "poofiest-mohak" of the World Cup.
4. Mile Jedinak, Australia
With his messy hair and untamed straggly beard, Australia's Mile Jedinak is rocking the "I've been stranded in the wilderness for way too long" look this World Cup.
3. Marouane Fellaini, Belgium
Fellaini unquestionably wins "best afro" of the World Cup.
2. Domagoj Vida, Croatia
Croatia's Domagoj Vida has always had long golden locks, but he switched it up for the 2018 World Cup. Domagoj kept his long hair in the back but shaved the front and the sides, and he has gotten A LOT of feedback.
Croatia's Vida should get a straight red card for that haircut. #CRONGA

1. Neymar, Brazil
Neymar's hairdo has been the most talked about hair of the World Cup thus far. The haircut has been compared to spaghetti, giving him the nickname, "Spaghetti-Head." Former French pro-footballer Eric Cantona even posted a video making fun of the hairstyle by placing spaghetti on his head.
