It wasn't that Arsenal lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. That was to be expected. It was how they lost. At least, that's what the folks who get paid lots of money to unleash Hot Soccer Takes are saying. No word on what their Hot Soccer Takes would be if Arsenal had gamely hung in there and lost a close one.
We'll never know, because Arsenal did not gamely hang in there and lose a close one. They let Vincent Kompany score on them. Kompany played 90 minutes against Arsenal and didn't even have to exert himself to the point of getting injured. For shame, Arsenal. For shame.
Arsene Wenger has never won the English League Cup, sometimes known as the EFL Cup, Capital One Cup, Carabao Cup, the Carling Cup, the Worthington Cup, the Coca-Cola Cup, the Rumbelows Cup, the Littlewoods Challenge Cup and the Milk Cup. And, if the Wenger Watch possesses any sort of "third eye" or other such powers of divination, he never will.
Set the Wenger-O-Meter to "Wenger OUT" and let's start speculating on who Arsenal's new manager will be (a lot of people think it's going to be Thierry Henry but the Wenger Watch really likes Bob Bradley's chances here).
