U.S. midfielder Weston McKennie scored his first goal for Juventus in 693 days as he struck in their Champions League opener vs. PSV on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game was a surprise start for the American as he had only featured in one of Juve’s previous four games, starting none of them.
In the 27th minute McKennie was poaching in front of the PSV goal and made no mistake when given the opportunity from close range.

McKennie bagged 10 assists for Juventus last season but could never quite find the back of the net to get on the score sheet himself. That weight is finally of his shoulders as the two-year wait for a Juve goal is over.
Tuesday's strike was his fifth career Champions League goal.
The 26-year-old looked to be leaving Juventus this season due to a contract dispute over the summer and the club wanting to get rid of him. It seems McKennie is repeating last season’s storyline of Juve wanting him out of the team, he fights his way back into the squad and then proves his worth.
Classic McKennie.
Juventus led 2-0 at halftime.
