Senior Maryland defender William Kulvik scored a goal that he’ll be telling his grandchildren about on Friday during a college game against Detroit Mercy.
The man from Norway is playing in his fourth year with Maryland and had only scored two goals in his college career prior to Friday. Those goals came back in 2022.
On Friday he had the audacity to spot Detroit’s goalkeeper off his line and rip a shot from beyond midfield.

The most casual halfway line goal you'll ever see

What a strike!
We weren’t kidding when we said this was “SportsCenter Top 10” material because the play did end up on the show. Of course, it won the No. 1 top play.

Kulvik would score twice in the game with his second goal coming minutes after his first. The second goal was a little more traditional than the midfield blast.

Maryland went on to win the game 5-2.
