Arsenal FC ended its league season yesterday with a clinical 2-0 victory over Norwich City FC. Goals from newly healthy Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson (his first goal for the Gunners) formalized Norwich's relegation down to the Championship next season.
Arsenal ended the season in the valuable 4th place position in the table, meaning it will once again face Champions League qualification at the start of the next season. In the interim, Arsenal now prepares to play Hull City AFC in the FA Cup Final Saturday at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal enters that match as heavy favorite and seem quite confident in their chances as they are already planning their victory parade. (Hopefully for Wenger's men, the outcome will be different than that of the 2006 Champions League final against Barcelona, where the Gunners made similar plans and then summarily scrapped them after they were beaten 2-1.)
The victory was Arsenal's fifth straight league win and all of the points were critical in holding off plucky Everton's challenge for the last Champions League spot. Although many questions remain about the season that was and what the future holds for Arsenal, the club has ended the season on a high note and will look to end their nine year drought without a trophy this Saturday.
The FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Hull City airs Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. ET on Fox.
